Article 3.1 Purpose and Mission of MODIP
The mission of the Quality Assurance Unit is the continuous improvement of the quality of the Institution's educational and research work, as well as the effective operation and performance of its services, in accordance with international practices, in particular those of the European Higher Education Area and the guidelines of the National Higher Education Authority (N.T.A.A.E.).
MODIP. As part of its mission, it develops the Quality Strategy and further specifies it with the Quality Policy.
The Quality Policy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki sets out the principles of operation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (ESDP), aiming at its continuous improvement.
In addition, MODIP. ensures the preparation of the annual quality target, which covers all aspects and dimensions of the operation and activities of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in accordance with the Institution's Strategy.
Article 3.2 Structure – Constitution
MODIP. It is structured internally by:
a) the Quality Assurance Committee and
b) the Quality Assurance Service.
Article 3.3. Establishment and Operation of the Quality Assurance Committee
The Quality Assurance Committee, which consists of the members referred to in the law, is constituted by a decision of the Senate and has a five-year term of office, has the following responsibilities:
a) Drafting of a proposal for the structure and operation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (ESDP) and its submission to the Senate for approval and publication in the Government Gazette, as well as the submission of proposals for the amendment and improvement of the ESDP.
b) Development of a policy and strategy for the assurance and improvement of quality in any kind of teaching, research and administrative work offered by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and in particular:
i) First, second and third cycle curricula, including foreign language curricula.
ii) The lifelong learning programs and in general the quality of operation of the Training and Lifelong Learning Center of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
iii) The individual academic units of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Faculties, Departments and Sectors.
iv) The Special Account for Research Funds of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as the University Center for Research and Innovation of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and its Research Institutes (E.I.).
v) Individual academic or research units, such as university clinics, university museums and university laboratories, including the provision of services by them.
vi) The administrative services of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
c) Updating of the ESDP, at least every five (5) years, with the aim of its continuous improvement, in accordance with the developments in the European Higher Education Area, international practices and the guidelines of the N.T.A.A.E.
d) Preparation of a Quality Manual of the N.S.D.P. and its submission for approval to the Senate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
e) Periodic internal evaluation and review of the E.S.D.P. of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
f) Cooperation with the E.T.A.A.E. for the implementation of its directions and directives within the framework of its competences.
g) Exercise of any other competence assigned to the Quality Assurance Committee by the Internal Rules of Operation of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Article 3.4 The Quality Assurance Service
The Quality Assurance Service of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, staffed in accordance with the provisions of the law and the Organization of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, has the following responsibilities:
a) The execution of the decisions and the secretarial support of the Quality Assurance Committee of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
b) The submission of recommendations to the Quality Assurance Committee of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the preparation of material for making relevant decisions.
c) The cooperation with the N.T.A.A.E. and support of the internal and external evaluation and certification procedures of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, its individual academic and research units and the first, second and third cycle study programs, including foreign language study programs and cooperation programs, lifelong learning programs in accordance with the applicable legislation.
d) The development, management and monitoring of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and, in particular, the implementation of the internal evaluation, in accordance with the quality manual of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
e) The coordination and support of the procedures of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and its individual units in the implementation of quality assurance.
f) The collection and processing of data from all academic and research units, as well as the administrative services of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki regarding the implementation of quality assurance of all the activities of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
g) The publication on the institution's website of the data regarding the certification, internal and external evaluation of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and its individual units.
h) The responsibility for the completion of the values of the indicators in the context of the preparation of the annual achievement report for the distribution of the annual regular grant of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in accordance with the applicable legislation.
i) The responsibility for updating the information system of MODIP, as well as the Integrated National Quality Information System (O.P.E.S.P.) of the N.T.A.A.E. with the quality data of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the development of interoperability with it, in cooperation with and under the coordination of the Digital Governance Unit of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
j) The exercise of any other competence specified in the Organization of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and related to the subject matter of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
