Quality Assurance Committee

The Quality Assurance Committee is established by decision of the Senate and consists of:

a) the Rector or the competent Vice-Rector of the AEI,
b) five (5) members of the Teaching and Research Staff (T.E.P.) of the AEI. of the rank of Professor or Associate Professor,
c) one (1) representative from each category of members of the Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP), Special Educational Staff (EEP) and Special Technical Laboratory Staff (ETEP) of the AEI,
d) one (1) representative of undergraduate students,
e) one (1) representative of postgraduate students and doctoral candidates, and
f) one (1) representative from the Visiting Professors, assigned lecturers, Visiting Researchers and Contract Researchers employed at the AEI.

The term of office of the Committee is five years.
The representatives of the categories d) to f) are nominated on an annual basis and have the right to vote on issues related to their status.
The Head of the MO.DIP. and the Executive Director of the A.E.I. participate in the meetings of the Committee without the right to vote.

The responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Committee are:

a) the drafting of a proposal for the structure and operation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (ESDP) and its submission to the Senate for approval and publication in the Government Gazette, b) the development of a policy and strategy for the assurance and improvement of quality in any kind of teaching, research and administrative work offered by the University and in particular for quality, 
ba) first, second and third cycle curricula, including foreign language curricula,bb) lifelong learning programs and in general the quality of operation of the Centre, Training and Lifelong Learning (KEDIVIM) of the University,bc) the individual academic units of the University, Faculties, Departments and Sectors,
bd) the quality of operation of the Special Account for Research Funds of the University, as well as of the University Centre for Research and Innovation (PAKEK) and its Research Institutes (HEIs);
b) the quality of operation of the individual academic or research units, such as university clinics, university museums and university laboratories, including the provision of services by them;
bf) the quality of operation of the administrative services of the HEI; c) the updating of the EDP, at least every five (5) years, with the aim of its continuous improvement, in accordance with the developments in the European Higher Education Area, the international practices and the guidelines of the HEAEA; e) the preparation of a Quality Manual of the EDP and its submission for approval to the Senate of the HEI; d) the periodic internal evaluation and review of the EDP, e) the cooperation with the HAEAE for the implementation of its guidelines and directives within the framework of its responsibilities, g) the exercise of any other competence assigned to the Quality Assurance Committee by the Internal Rules of Operation of the HEI.
