The purpose of the process is to determine the degree of effectiveness, the evaluation and the systematic control of the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. More specifically, it is evaluated whether and to what extent the Foundation's units (academic, administrative, research, etc.) follow and implement the requirements of the EDP, identify deviations or gaps and carry out the necessary corrective, preventive or improvement actions, in order to achieve the objectives that have been set, with the expected result of improving quality.
The internal assessment indicatively concerns entities, such as:
- Curricula
- KEDIVIM
- Units
- Services
The results, as well as the conclusions of the internal evaluation, are recorded in reports prepared by the MODIP, which reflect the degree of achievement of the objectives of the NAP per entity under assessment and any deviations from it. Petitions are communicated to interested parties, with a view to taking a set of interventions or corrective actions, where necessary.
The Foundation's decisions to correct, comply or improve the functioning of the NAP are taken in the context of its annual review. Unscheduled reviews can be carried out at any time, if this is deemed necessary by MODIP.
For the internal evaluation process, and for any procedures deemed appropriate, the HAEAE quality standards (e.g. quality standards for curricula) are used. For cases in which there are no relevant standards from the HAEAE, MODIP may utilize data and reports from the existing quality systems of the units (indicatively, ISO Quality Standards, EFQM, etc.) in cooperation with them.
